North Korea missile launch fails: Seoul

London [U.K.], April 15: North Korea has begun a vast military parade to celebrate the birth of its founding father, Kim Il-sung, and warned that it was prepared to take the oughest action unless the United States ended its military hysteria, The Guardian reports.

No planned response is expected from the Trump administration because the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the administration's initial understanding of the launch, said there was no need for the reinforce the failure.

The streets of Pyongyang also saw men beating drums, and women in traditional Korean dress waving flowers and chanting slogans. Many people who took part in the parade appeared to be moved to tears when they passed by the country's leader Kim Jong-un.

Last year North Korea, which regularly fires off short-range rockets, launched a long-range missile and carried out two nuclear tests. Analysts say such missiles may be able to reach targets as far as the United States.

During a speech at the parade, a high-ranking North Korean official blamed the Trump administration for heightened tensions on the Korean peninsula, saying North Korea will respond with "all-out war and a nuclear war" if attacked.

On Friday, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi discouraged the US and North Korea from engaging in "tit for tat" behavior between the two countries after media reports claimed that the Trump administration was positioned to launch a preemptive strike if North Korea appeared to be launching such a test. Washington has voiced concerns over Pyongyang's nuclear tests, but the North says such launches are an act as deterrence against a potential invasion by the US or South Korea.

"We will respond to an all-out war with an all-out war and a nuclear war with our style of a nuclear attack", Choe said.

"Outside South Korea, some people are anxious, but we don't feel like that in our daily lives", said Choi Na-young, an office worker in central Seoul.

The parade comes amid rising tensions between North Korea and the rest of the world, after a week-long series of spats directed toward the U.S., and a looming possibility of the nation's sixth nuclear test.

North Korea also warned it is "ready to hit back with nuclear attacks" should the USA make any provocative action, according to the BBC.

The parade also included large rockets covered by canisters in two different types of transporter erector launcher trucks, or TELs.

A military parade is likely to be held on Saturday to mark Kim Il Sung's anniversary but government minders have not confirmed any details with visiting foreign journalists.

SHAPIRO: Explain the reason that people anticipate a possible nuclear test by North Korea this weekend.

It also makes the missiles harder to detect after they're fired, Kim said.

Near the birthplace of Kim Il Sung, a pilgrimage spot for North Koreans, commuters moved briskly on and off the subway, young women holding umbrellas walked by, clasping arms, while two children in blue school uniforms shuffled down the street holding a flower basket nearly their own size.

Pyongyang has so far staged five nuclear tests, two of them past year, and analysis of satellite imagery suggests it could be preparing for a sixth. South Korea has a spotty record of tracking developments in North Korea, as information about the secretive, authoritarian state is often impossible to confirm.
