Browns rookie Peppers defends reputation after diluted test

Peppers didn't practice with the rest of the rookies because he hadn't signed the participation agreement that's necessary without a contract. However, he denied he signed the agreement because of the rumors regarding drug usage.

Before taking the field and covering a wide receiver, Browns rookie Jabrill Peppers defended his reputation.

On Wednesday, a Cleveland radio personality became a former Cleveland radio personality after saying on-air that first-round Browns draft pick Jabrill Peppers was "on the lean and the molly", a reference to a cocktail containing prescription-strength cough syrup and the recreational drug MDMA.

"Absolutely not, never in my life", Peppers said in a video posted by Cleveland.com's Brown beat writer Mary Kay Cabot.

Parr said the president of the station called her after the the show and told her "I got a little too personal, and he's not going to be able to allow me on the air anymore". "Stop asking me questions (about that)". For players like Peppers (and 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster) who failed a drug test at the Scouting Combine and who therefore face enhanced drug testing once they show up for work, it makes sense to point out that, by refusing to sign a participation agreement and by not having a contract in place, Peppers avoided the commencement of formal National Football League drug testing. "I don't know why you guys think of me like that, but everyone's entitled to their own opinion". In fairness to the guys, we didn't have the numbers at tight end, so I know he's a little exhausted. "I'm just going to do what I got to do to get out (of the program) to be the best ballplayer I can be".

Though Peppers didn't play on Friday, he was still the center of attention. "Whatever drug she's said I've done, I've never done in my life".

After a former sports radio host by the name of Sabrina Parr accused Peppers on Thursday of being "on the lean and the molly" and being "high out of (his) mind", Peppers summarily shot down those allegations on Friday. I'm definitely going to make my case, but I'm just going through the due process. "So I'm not even going to get into that. I just try to perform my best on the field". "He is an energy bunny", Jackson said.
