Patty Mills says Spurs have belief to beat Warriors in NBA western conference finals

Brown was driving behind the Spurs team bus at a freeway exit as he was driving his son Cam - a huge fan of Spurs coach Gregg Popovich - and a couple of friends in his SUV on Tuesday.

Kawhi Leonard will miss Game 2 of the Western Conference finals with an ankle sprain, though the San Antonio Spurs' MVP candidate has already made it back from the injury once this postseason.

"They came out with a sense of urgency from the beginning and they played that way for 48 minutes", acting Warriors coach Mike Brown said.

"All I care about is the next game, and we'll see how they come out".

At his final red light before reaching the gates to the stadium parking lots, Brown's luck ran out.

"So I answer the phone and Pop is dying (laughing)", Brown said. I don't think as a group they really did, which means probably a little bit of feeling sorry for themselves psychologically, subconsciously, whatever psycho-babble word you want to use.

Cleveland: Well, I was nowhere near close in my last round prediction, in that I thought the Cav's would at least be tested by Toronto, and certainly more than they were by the less talented Indiana Pacers the round before.

"When the game starts, it's whoever wants to grab that momentum early and set the tone for the game, and I think we did that a little bit better tonight". Then an SVU pulls up and I hear him on their loud speaker: 'Hey, you in the Range Rover! Right now! You heard the officer! I'll start in the West this time, since I got both those series correct in the last round's preview. "So I just stopped". I'm sitting here and I see this black Range Rover, I see all these cops surrounding him and I see the auto trying to inch forward and I'm like, he's about to get arrested.' I said: "'Pop, this is my own building!.' He said: "'I know when I saw it was you, I died laughing'".

Add in how some are questioning (see Spurs coach Gregg Popovich ) whether Leonard was injured by a dirty play in the series opener Sunday against the Golden State Warriors, and it's even bigger.

"Well, you know, we blew a great opportunity in Game 1, and it was turnovers", Popovich said.

Popovich chuckled about it before the game.

"Somebody's got to teach him that when the California Highway Patrol tells you to move over, you move over", Popovich said. "He didn't do that". "We know that they're very capable and that system is as strong as it's been". It was pretty cool to watch them. "If he's got it going, give him the ball". "It was much easier than normal". Golden State Warriors' Kevin Durant, right, works for a rebound against San Antonio Spurs' Dewayne Dedmon, center left, during the first half of Game 2 of the NBA basketball Western Conference finals, Tuesday, May 16, 20.

Five other Warriors connected on multiple 3-pointers in an 18-for-37 barrage that dwarfed the Spurs' 8-for-23 success from beyond the arc.
