Macron-Trump, poignée de main "pas innocente"

Pour le Président américain, l'essentiel est de se concentrer sur le terrorisme, l'immigration et "les menaces de la Russie". Les médias américains ont donc reconnu en Emmanuel Macron un dirigeant capable de tenir tête (et la main), à Donald Trump. Mâchoire serrée, le regard planté dans celui de son homologue (tout en "virilité" donc).

Les Etats-Unis ont longuement commenté la poignée de main échangée par Donald Trump et Emmanuel Macron lors de leur première rencontre à Bruxelles, jeudi 25 mai. Reprise en titre par le "Telegraph", qui parle d'une "puissante et gênante poignée de main".

"L'Américain de 70 ans et le Français de 39 ans ont chacun attrapé la main de l'autre dans ce qui a commencé comme une poignée de main virile et qui a fini comme une prise mortelle bon enfant".

Pour leur première rencontre, c'est un match testostéroné qui s'est déroulé entre les deux hommes, qui devant la presse, se sont livrés à une poignée de main d'anthologie.

"A un moment, [Donald Trump] a essayé de se dégager, mais [Emmanuel] Macron s'est agrippé encore plus fortement et a continué à faire monter la pression. Finalement, la seconde fois, M. Trump s'est retiré et M. Macron l'a laissé partir", relate ainsi un correspondant du New York Times.

Le journaliste du très sérieux The Guardian chargé a décrit la confrontation en détail: " Ils se sont serré la main pendant un long moment.

Ce n'est qu'après qu'Emmanuel Macron a consenti à tendre la main à Donald Trump, qui n'a pas manqué de la saisir avec toute la vigueur qu'on lui connaît.

"Le président français a fait preuve d'une immense force et d'une grande résistance pendant l'échange, l'expression d'une implacable domination était visible sur son visage". Il a réussi là où, même Angela Merkel a été mise en difficulté: survivre dignement à la poignée de main avec Donald Trump lors de la traditionnelle photo assis dans des fauteuils, face à la presse.
