The homeowner, Katie Hawley, initially called police because she thought the house was burglarized.

A surveillance video captured the freakish sight of a bear breaking into a family's home in Vail, Colorado and playing the piano.

"I left the window unlatched, but it was still shut".

The bear seemed very interested in the apartment piano, and pawed the keyboard.

It happened in an East Vail neighborhood on May 31.

Following the report to police, the owner checked her internal camera system, which captured the event on video.

The responding officer inspected the home and found minor damage to the apartment and noted food was taken from the freezer.

Home security video showed the bear lumbering over to their piano and banging on it during its curious visit.

The bear hasn't been seen — or heard from — since.

The town of Vail released a statement describing the incident, adding, "The chords captured on video were unbearable and the tune was equally grizzly, according to police". "He exited the same way he came in", said Hawley.
