Carl Frampton Returns Home Against Andres Gutierrez On July 29

The fight will be Frampton's first in Belfast in over two years.

"I understand there are going to be a lot of people who. miss out on tickets because this is at the Odyssey and not Windsor or an outdoor venue", Frampton said. "My team made him offers when he was the super-bantamweight champion and also when featherweight champion but they said no", said 23-year-old Gutierrez.

"If I beat Frampton then I will hopefully get a world title shot".

'I'm excited to be boxing at home again. I'm completely focused on one man and that isn't Leo Santa Cruz. "I'm going to put in soul, life, and heart and I will fight for what I most want, that's why I'll prevail".

He added: 'This is a big challenge for me, it's the first time I've been so far away from home.

Three out of Frampton's last four fights have been in America and he wanted to repay his fans for travelling overseas to see him with a home fight against a good opponent.

"I will need to be at my best and, if I'm not, I may lose this fight". The man known as "Jaguarcito" is ranked in the top-ten with the WBC and on closer inspection his record reveals that his only loss was a highly controversial majority points decision to former unified world champion Christian Mijares in June of past year.

Two-weight world champion Frampton's manager, Barry McGuigan, says that Gutierrez is a risky assignment for the home hero. He's a whirlwind and he won't leave you alone.

The scene is set for an action-packed encounter between two of the best featherweights in the world on July 29th at the SSE Arena Belfast.
