After London fire, desperate pleas for missing residents

Flames smoke coming from Grenfell Tower

She lived on the 22nd floor of the 24-storey block of flats.

Someone asked, "Did you try going down low with towels?' She said "Yes, it's in my room".

He said she was a "talented artist".

Looking for our dear friend Khadija Saye who lives 20th floor of Grenfell Tower on fire this morning she always wears this Africa necklace.

Her latest work, which is now on display at the Diaspora Pavilion in Venice, "explores the migration of traditional Gambian spiritual practices and the deep rooted urge to find solace within a higher power".

Ms Saye's mother, Mary Mendy, is still unaccounted for.

"They haven't got easy fire escapes, they've got no sprinklers, it's totally unacceptable in Britain that this is allowed to happen and people lose their lives in this way". God bless your lovely soul. The tower, which was built in 1974, underwent extensive renovations previous year.

Both mother and daughter are yet to be accounted for.

"We've been to all the hospitals and we've been searching all day but we still haven't found them, we just want to know they are safe", he told The Sun.

The two architects had moved to London three months ago for work.

The Italian Foreign Ministry said two Italians are missing.

An Italian newspaper, "Il Mattino di Padova", said Gottardi had been on phone with his father and told him the smoke was rising before the line suddenly cut. Among the missing are Jessica Urbano Ramirez, 12, Mariem Elgwahry, 27, who lived on the 19 floor and Tony Disson, 66, who lived on the 22 floor.

Elgwahry's online profile said she was a senior marketing manager at cashback website Quidco, having graduated from the University of Roehampton in 2011 with a degree in business management.

"She would have been in her bed clothes and she will be very, very, very scared".

A "good half" of the building has yet to be searched according to Fire Commissioner Dany Cotton, who explained that additional shoring up was needed for firefighters to access the upper floors.

Holding his threat and losing his voice, he added: "I get quite emotional as I say that". A further 28 people are thought to be missing, and are presumed dead.

He said his uncle, who is 54 years old, has lived in the building for more than 25 years.

She was "saying she was unable to get out of the flat, that the smoke was so thick", Miss Green said.

She has not been contactable since.
