Abbotsford police investigating overnight fire at OK Tire

An arson has destroyed the OK Tire store at 33210 South Fraser Way in Abbotsford.

Crews were called to the scene at about 4:30 a.m. and battled the flames for at least two hours. The building was entirely engulfed in flames by the time crews arrived.

About 40 firefighters were involved in putting out the fire, Leighton said. They were able to save the adjacent building and limit the fire to the building of origin. The fire is being stubborn to fight due to the large number of tires stored on the second floor of the building.

South Fraser Way is now open in both directions, but Ware Street is still closed as crews continue to investigate.

The Abbotsford police major crime team is now working with fire investigators to determine the cause of the incident, and is canvassing for video and other witnesses.
