Report Protester interrupts performance of 'Julius Caesar' that references Donald Trump

Two reporters protested a performance of the play Julius Caesar in New York's Central Park to condemn violent leftist rhetoric against President Trump and his supporters.

The Shakespeare in the Park production, which includes some fairly broad visual jokes and quips linking Julius Caesar to Trump, became a political flash point last week. "The left lost their safe space!" One woman, later identified as Laura Loomer, climbed onto the stage to shout, "This is political violence against the right", before being escorted from the premises and charged with trespassing.

Tina Benko, left, portrays Melania Trump in the role of Caesar's wife, Calpurnia, and Gregg Henry, center left, portrays President Trump in the role of Julius Caesar during a dress rehearsal of The Public Theater's Free Shakespeare in the Park production of "Julius Caesar" in NY in this May 21, 2017. She has since been released, pending an August 14 court date.

A video was tweeted out by Posobiec at 9:13 PM showing Loomer rushing the stage and yelling that the scene was an "act of political violence against the right".

The duo was quickly removed by security, but not before really making people think about the consequences and dangers of political violence, which they were already doing, because-as pointed out in a note the theater itself has posted-that's the whole point of Julius Caesar. He was then led away by security guards.

Pro-Trump activist Jack Posobiec also posted video of the incident on Twitter.

"The blood of Steve Scalise is on your hands!" she exclaimed. The shooter, who was shot and killed by police, had a social media page filled with criticism of Republicans and the Trump administration.

In the wake of the uproar, Bank of America and Delta Air Lines pulled sponsorship support from The Public Theater.

In the Delacorte Theater, a voice over the public address system pointedly intoned, "Actors please, let's pick up with 'liberty, freedom'". It vowed to continue with its staging of "Julius Caesar" in an enclosed theater in New York's Central Park.

The conservative activist said on social media that she's not apologetic about interrupting the production.

Loomer was arrested, but Posobiec was not. As a outcome, she lost her job as a co-host of CNN's New Year's Eve coverage.

The Central Park Theater's rendition of "Julius Caesar" made global headlines for its brutal on-stage assassination of an actor who's a proxy for President Trump.
