Trump Blasts Travel Ban Ruling: 9th Circuit 'Did It Again'

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday criticized a federal appeals court one day after it handed him another legal setback by refusing to revive his U.S.travel ban on people from six Muslim-majority nations, and appeared poised for the nation's top court to weigh in. It is yet another stinging loss from a court that similarly refused to reinstate Trump's original executive order on travel in February.

In the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal's ruling, the justices specifically cited Trump's tweets in the lead-up to their decision, saying that the order "does not provide any link between an individual's nationality and their propensity to commit terrorism or their inherent dangerousness".

Wall suggested a briefing schedule that would run to June 21.

The high court could still act before then on the separate emergency request in a similar case from Maryland.

Trump's 90-day ban targets travellers from Libya, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. The state of Hawaii, which had challenged the ban, also gets a chance to submit additional briefs.

The lawsuits by Hawaii and the Maryland challengers argued that the executive order violated federal immigration law and a section of the Constitution's First Amendment, which prohibits the government from favoring or disfavoring any particular religion.

Well, as predicted, the 9th Circuit did it again - Ruled against the TRAVEL BAN at such a risky time in the history of our country. S.C.

Trump's first order on January 27 led to chaos and protests at airports and in various cities before being blocked by the courts.

Then, in March, Trump blasted another federal judge's ruling that blocked a revised version of the travel ban, suggesting it was a politically motivated decision that made the US look "weak".
