Helping out Simon Cowell has announced plans help victims of the Grenfell Tower blaze by donating all proceeds from the release of a yet to be announced single to those who have been affected by the tragedy

Cowell told Good Morning Britain that he had chose to do the single after believing it would be "appalling", in his position, not to help.

The newspaper was able to convince the British government "to waive Value-Added Tax costs from the charity single, [so] families affected by the blaze are set to receive even more funds".

Meanwhile, comedian Al Murray has said he will donate all profits from his two shows in London this weekend to those affected by the fire.

The Who and One Direction's Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson are among those recording a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water", which is slated for release Monday, the Sunday Express reports.

"For me in my position, not to do something would be appalling".

"You sit there, you're looking at the that, and then go back and watch the news and you think, 'what the f**k do you do?' I thought this is the best thing because it's quick and I've done it before".

Simon revealed last night he was "making calls" to rally round artists to appear on the track.

We only started 24 hours ago and already we are getting calls coming in, mainly from Brits.

Today, various vocalists have been arriving at a London recording studio to sing their parts.

"The song [choice] is important because it has to be honest, it has to have the right message, it has to mean something to the people affected".

"I do genuinely believe this will make a difference".

"It's really inspiring to see people come together", she said, "It gives you hope in humanity".

Cowell had visited the West London neighborhood where the devastating fire took place.

Simon's planned charity record wouldn't be his first, previously releasing a cover of REM's Everybody Hurts to raise funds for the victims of the 2010 Haiti natural disaster.

The REM hit was re-recorded by a host of stars including Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, Cheryl, Michael Buble, Kylie Minogue and Susan Boyle.
