YouTube adopte de nouvelles mesures pour lutter contre la propagande extrémiste

Cette semaine, comme les calendriers de communication sont bien faits, c'est au tour de Google de vanter maintenant sa propre offensive à l'encontre des contenus incitant au terrorisme.

Sur le plan technologique, Google va dédier plus de ressources afin de développer ses classificateurs de contenus grâce au machine learning.

Face à la montée du terrorisme, YouTube a décidé d'adopter quatre nouvelles mesures.

Quelques jours après Facebook, Google a levé le voile sur ses nouvelles mesures visant à lutter contre la propagande terroriste sur le web et les réseaux sociaux. La collaboration avec les agences de contre-terrorisme sera renforcée en parallèle.

Néanmoins, YouTube étend son Trusted Flagger (groupe d'experts qui examinent les vidéos signalées par les utilisateurs).

Enfin, la dernière mesure consiste à créer un programme baptisé Creators for Change.

Rien de très révolutionnaire en somme.

Google a notamment annoncé l'expansion à travers l'Europe de son programme de " redirection " déjà en vigueur, qui consiste à cibler - comme pour une publicité - les potentielles futures recrues de l'organisation État islamique pour les rediriger vers des vidéos censées les dissuader de franchir le pas.

Ensuite, il s'agira pour YouTube d'être plus dur envers les vidéos qui ne violent pas les règles du site, mais qui contiennent un contenu qui pourrait être perçu comme violent. Google explique que les tests effectués par ces équipes montrent que ces suggestions de vidéos montrent un taux de clic anormalement élevé quand elles sont placées sur ce type de contenus.
