Cris “Cyborg” Justino

The UFC on Monday announced it has stripped Germaine de Randamie of her women's featherweight belt after the Dutch fighter refused to fight No. 1 ranked Cris "Cyborg" Santos. She has been waiting for a title shot ever since.

Justino obviously has a UFC contract as well, but she was originally brought in to compete at a lower weight class.

"I definitely think the UFC created this division around one person [Justino], but unfortunately I don't think she is someone you can build around", Anderson said. She is taller than me, and she is much younger than me.

UFC 214, which takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, is headlined by a hotly-anticipated UFC light-heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier (c) and Jon Jones. That would just reiterate that they're not invested in 145 pounds.

"Well, I hear you thinking again 'She's scared!"

Not that Anderson has any plans of losing. She has won her last four fights by TKO or KO and isn't going to have the type of fight where fans are going to watch two rounds of action and only see ten punches. Justino, on the other hand, has been one of the original pioneers of female MMA. Cyborg has not lost since her first pro bout, which occured all the way back in 2005. "It's about hunger and dedication". "It has been ten months since my last fight, but I've been training this whole time and have been ready to fight at UFC 214".

"I have an awesome team behind me and I know what I'm capable of". "This is the fight that brings new interest to the 145 division".

The UFC's initial rollout of this division has been a disaster to say the least. De Randamie during a media workout ahead of her fight with Holly Holm. The Anderson affair will be her first proper featherweight contest in the Octagon.

Anderson (8-2) had been scheduled to defend her Invicta belt against Helena Kolesnyk at Invicta FC 24 in July. "She wants the fight".

"We finally said, 'OK, fine" and we sign another fight.

The history books won't look too kindly upon Germaine de Randamie, who may very well be the worst champion in the history of the UFC.

. What happens to it after that is anyone's guess.
