On Tuesday night, Major League Baseball played its 88th All-Star Game at Marlins Park, appropriately located in Miami, Florida.

He was the first Mariner to earn All-Star MVP honors since outfielder Ichiro Suzuki did so with Seattle in 2007. (1992) and Ichiro Suzuki (2007).

A new-look All-Star Game ended with an old-time score. "So to be able to be here not too far from where I live now is nice. I've been very lucky to be where I'm at right now with the Boston Red Sox and have that transition going as smoothly as it has been".

"I was pitching the 10th inning, and I didn't expect it to go 10 innings", Davis said.

As you watch tonight's MLB All-Star Game - on TV, like most of us - there will be a lot of storylines to track.

"That felt good. You always like to get hit, especially in a game like this", he said.

"What I'd like to see - and I don't want to speak for anybody's pocketbooks, I don't want to cut checks I'm not writing - but I'd like to see some form of a pot where the winning team gets to decide what charity the money goes to". Carlos Martinez, who threw the third and fourth innings for the NL (sidearmer Pat Neshek threw the second, never breaking 92), topped 100 miles per hour four times, with a few more above 99.

Cano reached down and golfed a 1-1 offspeed pitch over the right-field wall, giving the Indians' Andrew Miller a 2-1 lead to close out in the bottom half.

Kimbrel pitched out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth inning to send the game to extra innings.

Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw, 14-2 with a 2.18 ERA, is ineligible to pitch in the All-Star Game because he started Sunday. The inning would end with Posey flying out to center fielder Mookie Betts, so no damage done.

He got former Kansas City teammate Mike Moustakas to fly out to deep right and struck out Justin Upton before Cleveland's Michael Brantley singled to right. "I had a blast playing previous year and I still had plenty of time off. The last thing we wanted to do was get pitchers in that shouldn't probably be in the game, and risk an injury or something".

Holland was just the fifth Rockies pitcher to appear in the Midsummer Classic and the first since Ubaldo Jimenez in 2010. "I said: Are you serious?" The old record was $313,500 for Mickey Mantle's 1956 American League silver bat award. Baltimore's Jonathan Schoop smashed a double down the left-field line and scored on a bloop single to shallow right by Minnesota's Miguel Sano. In the most memorable moment of the evening, Nelson Cruz entered as a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning, pulled out his cellphone, and had catcher Yadier Molina take a picture of him posing with home plate umpire Joe West before entering the batters box.
