A man who vanished after he was questioned in the death of a young Dallas mother has been apprehended in Durango, Mexico more than a year after a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to sources. Ten weeks later, her body was found by an animal rescue group searching for abandoned dogs under the Dowdy Ferry Bridge.

Marisol was last seen alive in December 29, 2015, and her remains were found later in March 6, 2016.

Valdez fled the Dallas area sometime in early January 2016 after initially helping with the search for Espinosa.

He was then taken from Mexico City to Dallas by an Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent and an officer from Mexico by agents of the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INAMI) before being transferred to custody of the Dallas Police Department.

"She gave me a kiss goodbye and just left for work", he said of the moment he last saw Espinosa. The FBI Dallas Violent Crimes Task Force was requested to assist in locating and arresting Valdez.
