Chelsea target to snub Blues for AC Milan move

The 23-year-old has, after all, never disguised the fact he is a lifelong Rossoneri supporter.

The striker has a €100m release clause in his contract that can be triggered by any team outside of Italy, however AC Milan are not able to trigger that's particular clause.

Belotti scored 26 league goals in 35 appearances last season, laying on another seven assists, and was only out-scored by Roma's Edin Dzeko and Napoli forward Dries Mertens.

Torino's Andrea Belotti is, understandably, a coveted player given the season he had in Serie A last term.

At the forefront of the interested parties have been Chelsea and AC Milan, with both clubs desperate to sign a top-class centre forward this summer.

Milan have also emerged as the most likely destination for Belotti, with the reports in Italy of player reportedly agreeing personal terms with the club.

They have brought in the likes of Andre Silva from FC Porto; midfielders Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfsburg), Franck Kessie and Andrea Conti (Atalanta), Hakan Calhanoglu (Bayer Leverkusen) and Lucas Biglia (Lazio); and defender Mateo Musacchio (Villarreal).

The addition of Belotti to their ranks could see them challenging for the Serie A title, a title they haven't won since 2010/11.

Torino chief Urbano Cairo has revealed that Belotti has a mammoth £88m release clause for clubs overseas.

Milan have reportedly made an offer of 40 million euros and also thrown in M'Baye Niang and Gabriel Paletta, but it appears that Torino want 80 million euros alongside the two players in order to complete the deal.
