Jose Quintana made his debut with the Chicago Cubs on Sunday, and he was dominant against the Baltimore Orioles.

The Chicago Cubs and the Baltimore Orioles meet in the finale of their three game interleague set on Sunday.

He was relieved in the eigth inning by Carl Edwards Jr. and the Cubs beat the Orioles 8-0, completing the series sweep.

The Cubs gave up four big prospects for Quintana, and he's hoping to do big things for his new team.

Arrieta struck out three and walked three.

"We are playing a World [Series] champion team that everyone knew was going to get going at some point, and unfortunately they started here", Orioles Manager Buck Showalter said. There were a lot of good numbers put up by the offense in this set especially from Heyward (6-13, 6 RBI, 1 HR, 1 SB) and Contreras (8-14, 4 RBI, 1 HR).

After a quick first inning, the Cubs tagged Jiménez for four runs on six hits in the second inning, then added a two-run home run by third baseman Kris Bryant in the fourth inning that helped spell the end for Jiménez.

YANKEES, RED SOX SPLIT: At Boston, Mookie Betts hit a two-run homer, helping David Price shut down NY 3-0 to give Boston a split of a doubleheader.

Rizzo hit his 22nd home run in the ninth off Darren O'Day. Heyward stole second and scored the fourth run on a two-out single by Ben Zobrist.

Mike Fiers surrendered a pair of solo home runs but was otherwise marvelous over seven innings, allowing four hits while recording a season-high 11 strikeouts for Houston in its win. Example? Steven Matz tossed one inning Sunday, allowing nine hits, walking one while throwing 39 pitches. Trevor Cahill (4-3) allowed 1 run and 8 hits in 6 2/3 innings for the host Padres.

Kevin Gausman gave up six runs (five earned) in 4.0 innings against the Twins on July 7, taking a no-decision. Caleb Joseph went 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs, while Ruben Tejada added the other run on the board for the O's in the loss. Warwick Saupold (2-1) got the victory with a scoreless 11th.

Sean Manaea pitched seven strong innings, Jed Lowrie hit his 10th home run of the season and Oakland completed a three-game sweep of Cleveland.

Catcher Caleb Joseph homered in the bottom of the fifth for the Orioles' first run, but by then, they trailed 7-1.

ROYALS 4, RANGERS 3: At Kansas City, Mo., Texas right fielder Shin-Soo Choo lost Lorenzo Cain's routine fly in the sun, and the ball glanced off his glove for a tiebreaking RBI single with two outs in the ninth.

He's now 63-28 as a Cub, including two no-hitters and a Cy Young Award (2015), and Saturday's game was the first time the right-hander has pitched at Camden Yards since the trade.
