Of its total, 174,000 units were in traditional album sales.

Hov has now topped the charts on every one of his albums since 1998's Vol. 2...

Only Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand are close, boasting 11 number one albums apiece. Among all acts, JAY-Z has the second-most leaders, behind only The Beatles, which have 19 No. 1s.

That tally was slightly more than previously anticipated by industry forecasters and more than enough to secure the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the fourth-largest sales week for an album this year. Since being released from its Tidal exclusivity though it's stormed up the charts.

Then, on July 7, the album became widely available to most streaming services (but not Spotify, as JAY-Z pulled his catalog from the service in April) and to retailers as both a download and CD (with three bonus tracks).

However, Hov didn't have the biggest debut week of 2017, at least according to Billboard. "The debut falls just behind Kendrick Lamar's "DAMN.", Drake's "More Life" and Ed Sheeran's "÷ (Divide)". That latter number adds up to 122.4 million streams of the album's songs.
