The Meizu Pro 7 looks to be a proper flagship

Putting the speculations at rest, Meizu has finally confirmed on Weibo that it would be releasing the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus on July 26.

Meizu is also expected to unveil the Pro 7 Plus which will be a bigger sibling of the flagship device. As we told you on Sunday, the buzz around the water cooler has the phone priced at the equivalent of $480 Dollars. In fact, the previous rumors had suggested that it is going to be on July 26 that the handset will be out on the market.

Well, Jeffrey Yang, senior VP of Meizu, has signaled the debut of the phone is close. It is believed that the "window" refers to the much talked about secondary screen of the Meizu Pro 7. The secondary screen is 2-inch in size. We can see the display being used for notifications, and dates and quick glance stuff like that. The successor of the Meizu Pro 6 will be powered by a MediaTek Helio X30 processor and is also expected to feature a 5.2-inch 1080p touchscreen display. And the rumors have eventually turned out to be true as the official statement has confirmed the release date of Meizu Pro 7 as of July 26. The Pro 7 will be priced at CNY 2,799 ($409 or €365) for the basic version and CNY 3,299 ($482, €431) if you want more storage.

The dual cameras module sitting on the backside of the Meizu PRO 7 is equipped with Sony IMX386 + IMX286 12-megapixel sensors. There'll also be a Plus variant that has been rumored to pack in Samsung's Exynos 8895 SoC, although latest reports say that won't be the case (see tweet below). The secondary display is certainly interesting, and we'll know more about what Meizu's plans for the device next week.
