IndiGo revoked on Wednesday a ban on TDP parliamentarian JC Diwakar Reddy who manhandled the airline's staff at the Vishakhapatnam airport last month after being denied boarding for arriving late for a flight.

Indigo, in the month of June, had imposed the ban on the TDP leader after he created a ruckus for being barred from boarding the domestic flight at the Vizag airport.

Nearly all the domestic airlines in India had announced a flying ban on Reddy following the ruckus.

The airline officials met the lawmaker at the behest of TDP MP YS Chaudhary and "amicably resolved" the issue.

The MP, who represents Anantapur constituency in the Lok Sabha, in response to the ban, had moved the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad seeking to declare the flying ban against him as illegal. The lawmaker went on to shout at the airline employees, and surveillance footage showed him banging his hands on a printer and pushing an IndiGo staffer.

Adding, "The Federation of Indian Airlines has also been informed about the decision".

Reddy, in his petition, argued that imposing a ban on him without conducting an inquiry, was "unlawful and contrary to the rights accorded by the Constitution".

Soon after IndiGo announced its decision to not fly the MP, the other airlines had followed suit. The case was scheduled to come up for hearing again on July 21, but it may not happen, as Reddy is reported to have dropped the case.
