Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller is 'not for sale' - CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

Arsenal players, manager, fans and everyone else associated with the club will still have nightmares about the last time they played Bayern Munich, when the German champions beat the English Premier League side 10-2 on aggregate in the UEFA Champions League last 16. "This is not a matter of discussion".

With first-team football at Real Madrid limited coupled with the World Cup finals on the horizon next summer, the Colombian global completed a two-year loan move to the Bundesliga giants earlier in the month.

German football giants Bayern Munich's coach Carlo Ancelotti said on Tuesday that his new midfielder James Rodriguez has to work to book a place in the starting line-up.

Thomas Muller struggled for form for Bayern Munich last season. "This is clear", Ancelotti said.

"If you think this way you can think he will replace Thiago (Alcantara) because he can play in the centre". Meanwhile Joshua Kimmich, Arturo Vidal, Niklas Sule and Sebastian Rudy will also not be with the team after playing at the Confederations Cup.

"We didn't buy James to replace anyone; we bought him to have a better team". And also, James knows that if he doesn't deserve to play he doesn't play, he goes on the bench - as a lot of players go, because we have a lot of competition in the team. "If he deserves to play, he will play".

Seated next to Ancelotti at the news conference, Muller echoed his coach's sentiment about James bolstering the all-round quality of Bayern's squad.

"James is a very good player who will help us improve the team".

"In the first two games we focused mainly on attacking and in the second part of the tour we will have to focus on defending and attacking because we play against two big opponents". Bayern Munich however, will clearly be a much tougher opposition.
