Disney to build third LNG fueled cruise ship at Meyer Werft

D23 Expo is organized by the Official Disney Fan Club.

The Walt Disney Co has ordered yet another 135,000-gt cruiseship at German cruiseship building specialist Meyer Werft. The newly announced ship as well as the other two will be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. Those are slated to launch in 2021 and 2023. Each of Disney's magical worlds united under one roof to celebrate what's new and what's on the horizon from theme parks, television, music, gaming, and films, including Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel.

"We decided two ships wouldn't be enough to hold all of the exciting new experiences we have been dreaming up to take family cruise vacations to a whole new level with immersive Disney storytelling, world-class family entertainment, and imaginative innovations that are fantastically fun and uniquely Disney", Chapek said. By the end of 2023, Disney will nearly double the size of its fleet, going from four to seven ships.

Ship names, design plans and itineraries are still in development. "We know [that] once they have, they will sail again and again". The line's first two vessels, the 83,000-grt, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, are its smallest vessels. Disney also said the ships will have 1,250 staterooms, the same as Dream and Fantasy. The new attraction will feature an original story that will take guests on a journey inside the world of Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts using new technologies that will turn the flat cartoon into an incredible dimensional display.
