The two-day warm-up game between India and Sri Lanka Board President's XI ended in a draw.

Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav claimed seven wickets between them, wiping out a strong Sri Lanka Board President's batting lineup for 187, on the first day of India's two-day practice match. The home team was comfortably placed at 139 for one, thanks to the second wicket stand from opener Danushka Gunathilaka (74) and Lahiru Thirimanne (59) before collapsing to 187 all out.

Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane were the unbeaten batsmen at the end of day's play, on 34 and 30 respectively.

Resuming the day at 135/3, Kohli and Rahane carried forward the Indian innings without much hiccups before Kohli walked off to allow the rest of the batters to spend some time in the middle. Abhinav Mukund (0) and Cheteshwar Pujara (0) were dismissed cheaply.

Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep took his wickets largely against the lower order, but figures of 4 for 14 may nevertheless, have raised his chances of playing the first Test. India are unlikely to break up their long-term frontline spin-bowling pair of R Ashwin and Jadeja, but if pitches are sufficiently dry, there may be a case for playing three spin bowlers.

The first between Sri Lanka and India starts on July 26 (Wednesday) at Galle.

The focus for India tomorrow will be to ensure the other batsmen get a go in the middle including Dhawan, who has made his way back to the Test team after a string of good performances in limited overs format.

The Indian team, led by Virat Kohli, are now in Sri Lanka for a full tour and things got underway on Friday with the start of a two-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka Board President's XI.
