Swansea City remain hopeful of re-signing striker Wilfried Bony from Manchester City - but are waiting for the estimated £50million they hope to receive from Everton for midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson before making an official move.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman, who is preparing for his second season in charge of the Merseyside club, has made signing the Icelandic midfielder a top priority and will be seen as their most important signing if a deal goes through.

Paul Clement expects Fernando Llorente to stay at Swansea City this season, despite continued links with Chelsea.

"We have the experience of what we need to pay for players who came here and had one year of contract", Koeman told reporters. "I heard some rumours that the talks broke down but we are still in negotiations with Swansea".

Clement steered Swansea away from relegation last season after arriving in January and believes the club are in a stronger position heading into his first full campaign in charge. We are at a critical stage of this situation and hope it's going to be resolved very quickly.

Clement added: "At the moment no (he will not play this Saturday)".

"When you have a player who is contracted for three more years, and there are other clubs interested in a very good player, this has happened".

However, Everton boss Ronald Koeman (below) and Swans counterpart Paul Clement agree the most likely outcome of the on-going negotiations will be the Iceland worldwide ends up at Goodison Park sooner rather than later.

"We have a number of weeks to go and I don't anticipate it going to the end of the window", Clement said of the Sigurdsson situation.

"We are not in a hurry but we hope to do a deal". "So we're as ready as we can be".

"He's a really good player and it's a shame with the injury he got in the summer".

'It is always a game between the buying club and the selling club but we are close and let's hope we get the agreement as soon as possible.
