President Trump called the governor of Guam on Friday and reassured the residents saying"We are with you 1000 percent

He continued, "We're going to do a great job for you".

The president responded, "You just went to 110, I think".

President Trump spoke with the governor of Guam on Friday after North Korea threatened earlier this week to launch missiles toward the island by mid-August.

The president also predicted a boom in tourism for the USA territory in light of the North Korean threat.

Calvo agrees. "It's paradise, " he says.

"You know, they're showing so much, it's such a big story in the news and it just looks like a lovely place", he says.

He told Calvo: "You notice that he hasn't spoken recently? And if anything happens to Guam, there's going to be big, big trouble in North Korea".

"Lie flat on the ground and cover your head".

The Government has instructed residents to be proactive and create emergency supply kits, a family emergency plan and a list of concrete shelters in their vicinity. Guam's governor, Eddie Calvo, said late Wednesday during an interview on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" with fill-in host Brian Kilmeade: "As far as I'm concerned, as an American citizen, I want a president that says that if any nation such as North Korea attacks Guam, attacks Honolulu, attacks the West Coast, that they will be met with hell and fury".

Eddie Baza Calvo (R) posted a video of his end of the call on Facebook, offering a candid glimpse of the dynamic between the two leaders.

"We are the best in the world by a factor of five", he says.

Tension in the region has risen since North Korea carried out two nuclear bomb tests previous year and two intercontinental ballistic missile tests in July.

North Korea says its Hwasong-12 missiles would take just 1,065 seconds to complete their 3,356km flight over Japan before splashing down in waters off the coast of Guam.

Trump "reassured Governor Calvo and our fellow Americans on Guam that United States forces stand ready to ensure the safety and security of the people of Guam, along with the rest of America".

Mr. Trump plans to meet Mr. Xi later this year in what the White House called "a very historic event".
