Le dab est en effet un geste banni dans ce pays. Abdallah al Shahani, un chanteur saoudien, a récemment été arrêté pour avoir fait un dab en concert le week-end dernier, sur la scène d'un festival de musique à Taif (Arabie Saoudite). Emporté par l'euphorie, l'artiste a dabé en pleine performance.

De son côté, Abdallah al Shahani a décidé de faire profil bas. On ne sait pas encore s'il fait l'objet de poursuites.

Popularisé par les rappeurs US, repris par les footballeurs avant d'être totalement vulgarisé, le dab semble désormais exécuté par l'ensemble de la population (jusqu'à Emmanuel Macron). Il faut croire que cela a calmé le "délinquant": il a publié dans la foulée un message d'excuse sur son compte Twitter: "Je présente mes excuses à notre gouvernement respecté et à mon public pour avoir involontairement et spontanément fait ce mouvement au festival de Taif. Veuillez accepter toutes mes excuses".

En Arabie saoudite, faire un "dab" peut vous valoir de graves ennuis.
