JDU Drops Leader From Parliamentary Party For Attending Opposition Meet

Party spokesperson K C Tyagi also accused Gandhi of "exploiting" the dissidence in the JD (U), saying it is against "political decorum".

Janata Dal-United rebel MP Ali Anwar Ansari, who was suspended from the parliamentary party for taking part in a meeting of opposition parties, on Saturday said the Sharad Yadav-led faction is the "real JD-U" and there was no question of leaving the party. We founded the party.

The anti-BJP front, already seriously dented by the exit of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar last month, now appears to have shrunk from 18 to 16 members.

Accusing the Bihar Chief Minister of sacrificing the nation for his government, Anwar told a media outlet, "You (Nitish Kumar) sacrificed the nation to stay in power". We will go across the country and tell people about what has happened", Anwar told ANI.Justifying his stand of attending the opposition's meet, Anwar said he is still following the people's mandate."Nitish Kumar went against the mandate , As Reported By Hindustan Times. Ansari has said he is opposed to the BJP's social and economic policies and is ready to face any punishment if the party so decides.

He added that this was not personal fight against Nitish Kumar but a fight of principles and to save democracy and brotherhood.

He said, "The common man is with us".

"We will start a Jan Andolan (mass movement)", he added. We will go to different universities across the country.

Sharad could not attend the meeting as he was busy in the three-day public interaction tour across Bihar to know people's reactions on the new government.

The JD (U) on Saturday affirmed that there is no split in the party, however, adding it's not hopeful of Yadav and Ali Anwar of attending the party meeting on August 19.
