Tom Cruise has been injured during the filming of a stunt on the set of Mission Impossible 6. He came in just a few inches short of clearing it, which is when the lower half of his body collided with the side of the building.

Even at 55 years old, Tom Cruise is still known for doing his own stunts across the various blockbusters he's starred in over the years.

In video obtained by TMZ, Cruise is attached to a harness while making the leap.

He then pulled himself up but was clearly limping as he tried to continue the shot, falling to his knees when he got beside the camera. He limps to the edge of the building and is pulled back by the safety team before limping off-screen.

The latest part of the franchise is now being filmed in London and is expected to arrive in cinemas on July 27, 2018.

It's hard to assess how impactful this accident will be to the production since we don't know the extent of his injuries. We wish Tom Cruise the best, and hope he recovers quickly. "I told them, 'Don't stop filming.' I was hit by a tiny particle from the runway and I literally thought it broke my ribs".

Earlier this year, Cruise revealed the title for the upcoming Top Gun sequel as Top Gun: Maverick in reference to the character he played in the original film.
