Albion were unable to turn their numerical advantage into three points, however, with Knockaert curling against the left upright midway through the first half, before Watford defender Christian Kabasele diverted the ball onto the same post before the break.

Chris Hughton is hoping to boost Brighton and Hove Albion's attacking options in the transfer market as they head into the global break without a Premier League goal.

Marco Silva's side began the season with a late 3-3 draw at home to Liverpool, before they won 2-0 at Bournemouth last weekend.

"It is a fair red card and Britos made the wrong decision and made the wrong action".

"It changes everything we planned and prepared for the match".

"We need to keep focus and keep our emotional balance and he didn't do that", said Silva, who... I can talk about three matches [I have been in charge for] and not the past.

"We have to be calm with him and we can't put all of this pressure on the boy and of course with games he will improve faster, I'm sure of that".

Brighton travel to Watford this afternoon and asked the importance of picking up points as soon as possible, Hughton said: "It's huge for us, points in this division are tough to come by, you have to very much earn them".

"Watford showed their quality and what they are; a team with good pace on the counter attack".
