Bears WR suffers knee injury

Chicago Bears wide receiver Cameron Meredith suffered a devastating left knee injury so gruesome Fox wouldn't show a replay on television. As he went down, linebacker Wesley Woodyard came in to finish off the tackle, contorting Meredith's leg in a grisly manner.

On the other hand, the Bears now have a lot of opportunity available at the position.

Meredith, a third-year player from Illinois State, was supposed to be the Bears' top receiving target this season. For the Bears, it won't be easy to replace what Meredith could do for them in the offense. During his first year in the league, he was given very few opportunities and remained on the sideline for the majority of the season. White's injury history makes him an unreliable option, adding to Meredith's value on the outside.

After catching 66 passes for 888 yards and four touchdowns last season, Meredith entered the season as the clear number one receiver on the Bears' roster.

Meredith signed with the Bears in 2015 as an undrafted free agent and had a breakout season past year. Kevin White has the talent, but he's barley seen the field because of injury problems.

The situation doesn't get better, as you go down the Bears' depth chart. So could a veteran like Kendall Wright or Victor Cruz.

For the Bears' this injury could mean disaster.
