But now - dashing fans' hopes of a reconciliation between the actors - more details have emerged about the couples counseling the duo are receiving, suggesting it's only for the sake of their son Jack, five. The source added that the ex-couple are busy with the couple's counseling at the moment which is what every couple would do if they want a divorce and there are kids involved.

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced their split in August, after eight years together.

Despite the process that Pratt and Faris are undergoing at the moment, the source further claimed that this will not change the status of their divorce announcement but this will be beneficial with their future co-parenting.

"Their work separations have taken a toll, and it is not likely that the marriage can be repaired enough to work right now".

Latest updates in the Chis Pratt and Anna Faris divorce claimed that the former couple is now receiving counseling as well as couple therapy. Faris' CBS comedy Mom returns in November, with her first memoir, Unqualified, still planned for an October release.

The pair, who Wednesday in 2009, declared in a joint statement that their son Jack, 5, would remain their priority: "Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward".

The couple still live together in the same Los Angeles house they share with Jack.

Last week Faris went on a podcast and gave advice to someone struggling in a relationship. Anna continued her heartfelt message: 'Don't be afraid to feel your independence if things aren't right'.
