HTC Ocean Life will be the first HTC smartphone to come under Android One platform

The device comes under Android One category and it will come with stock Android but a lite layer of HTC Sense UI 9.0_A1. The report tells that HTC is making a new smartphone under the HTC Ocean lineup and it is internally called the HTC Ocean Life.

LlabTooFer is known for leaking upcoming new products from HTC, as pointed out by Android Authority. Another leakster, Evan Blass confirmed the report and added an image of the alleged phone and the name HTC U11 Life.

IBT first reported about an HTC Ocean Life smartphone back in July, and information about the device at the time was also provided by LlabTooFeR.

Taiwanese phone-maker HTC is said to be releasing the HTC Ocean Life.

Android One is Google's initiative to create smartphones that are targeted at emerging markets. The image reveals a design which could be associated with the company's flagship HTC U11 phone.

We have already seen that the Xiaomi Mi A1 is just a stock android version of company's earlier Mi 5X smartphone, with a dual-camera setup on the rear. It's going to be a re-branded version of the middle-range HTC U11 Life which is expected to launch later this year. There's no word yet on whether the Android One version of the phone will make it to the USA, but it certainly is possible if T-Mobile is still involved. Unfortunately, Android One smartphone series were much basic and could not meet the expectations of average smartphone buyers regardless of the Stok Android experience which was available for Nexus smartphones only.

Coincidentally, HTC isn't the only manufacturer rumored to release its own Android One phone.
