La contrepartie à la baisse des loyers serait le gel du taux du livret A, dont une bonne partie des fonds, centralisés à la Caisse des dépôts, sert à financer le logement social, à son niveau actuel historiquement bas de (0,75%) et ce pendant deux ans. Objectif: avantager les bailleurs sociaux et transformer la politique du logement.

"Ce que nous voulons, c'est faire en sorte que le taux du Livret A soit stable (.) qu'il ne bouge pas pendant une période de temps", a déclaré Edouard Philippe mercredi sur France 2. Avant d'ajouter: "Geler, ça veut dire que ça ne peut pas baisser".

Pour rappel, le livret A est le placement "préféré" des Français et continue de faire le plein: les Français y ont versé 1,15 milliard d'euros en juillet, soit plus qu'en juin (840 millions d'euros).

Avec 0,75%, le livret A affiche actuellement son plus bas taux historique.

La semaine prochaine, lors de la présentation du plan pour le Logement les Français en sauront davantage sur cette mesure.
