First Images Of Hellboy From Upcoming Reboot Are Amazing

Shortly after the first photo of David Harbor in character as Hellboy surfaced online, the Stranger Things star shared a second, black-and-white photo of himself as Big Red on his Twitter. Mignola summed up his reaction with a simple, "Holy crap". Harbour has made a complete transformation into Dark Horse Comics' most popular character. And on first glance, he looks alarmingly similar to previous Hellboy actor Ron Perlman, whom Harbour replaces for the impending refresh. It's worth noting that it's not certain that that's the reboot's official Twitter account, but the picture does appear to be pretty damn official-and completely badass. The tweet was later deleted, however.

When a new Hellboy movie was first announced earlier this year, many fans were disappointed it would not be Guillermo del Toro's long-awaited Hellboy 3, but an unrelated reboot. "Neil said from the very beginning that he wanted to walk a razor's edge between horror and comic book movie, which was music to my ears, because that's what I was shooting for in the script, and precisely what Mignola does so well with the comics".

Daniel Dae Kim recently took over for Ed Skrein as Ben Daimio after backlash over whitewashing accusations surrounding the Japanese-American character.

With a late 2018 release in its sights, we understand Marshall's franchise revival will order Hellboy across the pond, where he "must defeat Nimue, Merlin's consort and the Blood Queen".
