British Airways plane held tarmac Paris terror London attack police threat

All those on the flight have since been searched by armed officers.

Prime Minister Theresa May said troops will patrol the streets and security will also be stepped up at major public events and terrorist targets such as railway stations and airports.

The plane was due to depart the airport at 7.25am this morning.

Flight number BA0303 was stopped at Charles de Gaulle and surrounded by police and fire vehicles at around 9am.

Amichai Stein reported on Twitter that passengers and luggage have now been cleared.

James told that initially the pilot said there were technical issues as the plane was held on the runway for an hour.

A British Airways flight has been evacuated in Paris over security fears.

"We were then told the aircraft had to move to another part of the airport".

Anderson says "the pilot then said there had been a direct security threat involving our flight".

"We had all our carry on bags searched (given all clear), we're now going through the body scanners and x-rays, and then we will have to identify any hold luggage that belongs to us".

'They need to make sure everybody and everything has been searched.

British Airways has assured passengers they will be able to board another flight later today.

Following the alleged security threat, a British Airways spokesman reportedly said the safety and security of customers and crew is "always top priority".

'Additional security checks are being carried out as a precaution.

"We would never operate a flight unless it is safe to do so".

The incident comes hours after a second person was arrested over the London tube bomb attack.

An 18-year-old man was arrested in Dover on Saturday in connection with the attack.
