'Young Sheldon' is very different from 'Big Bang Theory'

It follows his childhood as he grows up in East Texas, with his twin sister (Reagan Reyord), his mother Mary (Zoe Perry), his father George (Lance Barber), brother Georgie and his beloved Meemaw (Annie Potts).

But behind the scenes, the show went through some changes as well: Steve Holland, who first joined the writers room in 2009, stepped up to take the reins as showrunner after Steve Molaro shifted to the network's new spin-off, "Young Sheldon".

In an interview with Variety, the new showrunner spoke about what he intends to bring to the table come "The Big Bang Theory" season 11, especially going into it with the pressure brought about by the show being around for a while now.

"So You Think You Can Dance", 8 p.m. (KCPQ): Season 14 two-hour finale; the final four dancers give one more performance before the victor is crowned. "And yes, we're going to show there's a great deal more to the man than the little pieces discussed on Big Bang".

Young Sheldon is set to get underway on November 2nd on CBS following a one-off preview airing on September 25th.

The summer TV doldrums are thankfully over as fall premiere week kicks off with the 11th season of top-rated comedy "The Big Bang Theory", picking up where last season's cliffhanger left off, with Amy's answer to Sheldon's marriage proposal, 8 p.m. Monday on KIRO.
