Relief from the heat still on track this week

It is a breezy day Thursday under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies.

High temperatures will be in the upper 60s to low 70s starting later this week with cooler and more crisp overnight lows dipping well into the 40s.

Wednesday's forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with a high of 57 and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Northwest wind 5 to 15 miles per hour. Friday looks mostly sunny and much cooler with highs in the low and mid 70s. North wind 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Wednesday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 70, and a north wind of 6 to 8 miles per hour, the weather service said.

Highs will still climb well into the 80s both Tuesday and Wednesday with fairly high humidity levels helping to keep the summery feel intact through the middle of the week.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

That will be followed by a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 7 p.m., the weather service said. Winds will shift from the west to the northwest by evening under 10 miles per hour. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Highs will be back in the 70s and lows in the 50s on Wednesday night.

MONDAY - Partly sunny skies with isolated showers.

Tomorrow: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Thursday will be sunny with highs in the lower 90s.

Saturday, it will be sunny with a high of 71, the weather service said.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

The next few nights will remain mild and muggy with partly cloudy skies and somewhat sticky overnight lows in the mid 60s.
