Nick Kyrgios has a long way to go says Annabel Croft

Nadal was as sharp as he can get saving all those four break point chances the Aussie got on his serve.

Nadal, good friends with Dimitrov, will face temperamental Australian Nick Kyrgios in Sunday's final.

Kyrgios was back in the spotlight after he capitulated 6-2, 6-1 to the Spanish world No.1 in Beijing on Sunday, during which he swore, argued with the umpire and was docked a point.

In addition to action in Beijing, David Goffin captured his first ATP World Tour 500 title in Tokyo, beating Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 7-5, adding to the ATP World Tour title he won last week at the Shenzhen Open.

World number 19 Kyrgios, who was looking for his first title of the year, held his opening two service games, but faded as Nadal broke twice to grab the first set.

Despite Kyrgios' meltdown, 16-time Grand Slam champion Nadal has no doubts about the Australian player's talent as he said that he was baffled by some of his tactics.

He was fined $US16,500 by the ATP past year for purposely throwing a game away during his second-round defeat by Mischa Zverev at the Shanghai Masters.

"My dream is true now, in that moment you can not believe 100 percent that it's happening, so I was in tears a little bit", she said. Nadal sits just two titles away from fourth place on the all-time Open Era list behind John McEnroe.

"We've played a couple of times - he's beaten me and I've beaten him [this year]". With his powerful and accurate serves, the Australian was able to beat Novak Djokovic, who is known for his ability to return well, twice earlier this year.

"I put in a pretty good week", said Kyrgios.

Kyrgios has revealed his desire to build a facility for disadvantaged and underprivileged kids after he crumbled in the China Open final to fall 6-2, 6-1 in Beijing.

"I lost a bit of composure after a rough line call in the first game of the match and never really recovered", he said. It's tough to find positives when you won (just) three games in the final.

"I'm building something. It's going to be sick".
