Bulgaria France Extends Anti Terror Border Controls

Denmark's border controls have been extended for another six months, the Ministry of Immigration and Integration has confirmed - just one month after the EU Commission ruled there were no grounds for their continuation.

It added the Austrian land border remained the focus of irregular migration while more unauthorized entry was made by air from Greece.

The controls at borders with members of the visa-free Schengen area such as Italy and Belgium, will "respect the principle of proportionality", the ministry said in a note to the European Union dated October 3rd.

France will maintain until 30 April 2018 the border controls restored on the evening of the attacks of November 2015, citing " the persistence of the terrorist threat, indicates this Thursday with the ministry of the Interior.

"While we are now experiencing low entry and asylum rates in Denmark, we must unfortunately note there is still a great deal of pressure on Europe's external borders", said Støjberg.

Although extensions to the measure have been granted several times, the border control had been scheduled to expire in November this year.

"We can not close our eyes to the serious terror threat against Denmark".
