Warriors guard Stephen Curry admitted he did not want visit the Trump White House

A chunk of National Basketball Association teams have stopped staying at President Trump's swanky SoHo hotel since he officially started his presidential bid in 2015, according to a new story from The Washington Post.

In all, 17 teams from across the major professional sports leagues had stayed at Trump properties before 2015. The Cavs were on the list of teams that the Washington Post put together, and they're not the team that has continued the relationship - they ceased booking Trump rooms at the end of last season.

Still, it's not clear if teams' decisions to take their business away from Trump properties is explicitly due to the president's politics - numerous teams Farenthold interviewed declined to comment on the specifics of why they were going elsewhere. The Washington Post reached out to all teams in those three leagues and the NFL (that's 123 teams altogether) and found at least 16 no longer stay at Trump hotels while on the road.

Some of the teams that have left Trump hotels cited reasons outside politics.

President Trump has made a point to blur the lines between politics and sports, most recently stating that he believed NFL players that protest during the national anthem should be fired and uninviting Steph Curry to the White House after Curry had already said he would not go. Other teams confirmed that they stopped staying at the hotels because of President Donald Trump's presidency.

The Post report said that the Raptors were one of five teams who dropped the Trump SoHo from their travel plans this past summer.

And in an interview with Sporting News, Bucks forward Jabari Parker said he was "proud" not to stay at Trump properties.

'The president has repeatedly said he doesn't care about his business, he cares about the country, ' Sanders wrote in an email to The Post. "I don't support someone who endorses hate on other people". 'The president's position on athletes standing for the National Anthem is about respecting the flag and the men and women of the military who sacrifice to defend it and nothing else'. "He ran his campaign on hate".
