De nombreux internautes ont déclaré ne pas pouvoir accéder à leurs comptes Facebook et Instagram mercredi soir, suite à ce qui s'apparente à une nouvelle panne majeure du système, qui aurait rendu inaccessible Facebook durant plusieurs heures pour de nombreux utilisateurs.

Facebook et Instagram, deux des principaux réseaux sociaux au monde, étaient très difficilement accessibles ce mercredi en fin d'après-midi, en raison d'une panne importante. Cette panne qui a duré plusieurs heures n'a trouvé aucune explication de la part du géant Facebook, propriétaire d'Instagram depuis 2012.

D'après le site Down Detector, environ 40 % des utilisateurs de Facebook n'ont tout simplement pas accès au site. Si les utilisateurs déjà connectés à Facebook sur PC pouvaient encore accéder aux précédentes publications, ils ne pouvaient pas en publier de nouvelles ni rafraîchir leur fil d'actualité, détaille Zdnet.

Les utilisateurs touchés sont incapables d'écrire des commentaires sur Facebook.

Impossible également, via Messenger, d'envoyer des messages à ses contacts.

Il n'est pas certain que Facebook va communiquer sur l'incident: une simple opération de maintenance ou une panne matérielle pourraient suffire à rendre inaccessible un site Internet. "Nous travaillons pour que les choses reviennent à la normale aussi rapidement que possible", a réagi en début de soirée un porte-parole du réseau social.
