Rose McGowan on Twitter: 'HW Raped Me'

Rose McGowan was temporarily suspended from Twitter Wednesday night, after several days of ferociously advocating for victims of sexual assault in the wake of the allegations against Harvey Weinstein. During the suspension she is reportedly unable to send a tweet or a retweet, but her account is now visible.

Rose McGowan called on her "Rose army" to help her spread her messages once Twitter suspended her account.

It's not clear why McGowan's account was locked, but it came soon after she tweeted foul language to actor Ben Affleck and accused him of lying about his knowledge of Weinstein's past sexual misconduct.

In another tweet she was even more blunt, telling Affleck to "f- off".

She also sent out a tweet targeting The Weinstein Company that read, "TWC You don't get to change your company name & be done with it".

A spokesman for Twitter told CNNMoney the company does not comment on individual accounts for privacy and security reasons.

Twitter on Thursday said the suspension of actress and Harvey Weinstein critic Rose McGowan's account was a temporary measure due to terms of service violations. "I said I was the proof", she claimed, later confirming to The Hollywood Reporter that the initials in her tweet belonged to Weinstein. Earlier this week, in light of the scandal, Amazon said "we are reviewing our options for the projects we have with The Weinstein Company". "BE MY VOICE", she urged fans in an Instagram post. "We stand with the fearless women and men who use Twitter to share their stories, and will work hard every day to improve our processes to protect those voices", the company added. Many users were quick to point out that white supremacists and even Donald Trump could consistently provoke outrage and not have their accounts suspended. She also said that "it's been an open secret in Hollywood/Media & they shamed me while adulating my rapist" and that "it is time for some goddamned honesty in this world".

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey then linked to the official statement from his personal Twitter account, noting: "We need to be a lot more transparent in our actions in order to build trust".
