Stephen Curry admits he'll pick Warriors teammates if chosen as All-Star captain

Curry, Thompson and Green are all tied to long-term deals, with Durant taking less money to keep the team together, allowing the Warriors to re-sign important pieces such as Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston and Javale McGee. While there will still be 12 players selected from the Eastern and Western Conferences, the game will not be played under conference alignment.

The 2017 NBA's Defensive Player of the Year has always been one to say what he means and he meant it when he said the Cavaliers were overmatched in the NBA Finals and that no one else in the NBA has a prayer in the near future. "Until you run out of those options, then you have to figure it out".

Who can blame the two-time MVP as he won a championship in dominant fashion alongside Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green previous year.

Green is one to talk trash and sound overconfident at times, but for him to do it as a member of a team that won 73 games two years ago, 67 games last season and two of the last three National Basketball Association championships it's not really trash talk anymore.

If it's about winning, there shouldn't be a surprise that he wants to choose the players he wins with on a regular basis. The league hopes the changes will foster a more competitive game.

When asked which non-Warriors player he would pick first, Curry kept it coy.

"I don't know", he replied with a smirk. "You got to see how it all unfolds". "The All-Star Game has been pretty bad the last couple years, just from a competition standpoint".

For viewers, the choices the captains make and how this plays out is arguably more interesting than the game itself and there is potential for animosity to build between players if they feel they are not selected high enough by the captains.

But Curry doesn't believe that will be the case.

If you're one of the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs or Oklahoma City Thunder, Kerr's comments should scare the living daylights out of you. Then it got good, then it got bad and you switch it up again. "It's fun. It's a different type of setup and a different look, especially on the court".
