It showcased the game's new weapons, maps, heroes, and increased depth, but much of the discussion surrounding the game has centered around something that wasn't actually in the beta: microtransactions.

Now that the Star Wars Battlefront II beta is about to close, DICE have been able to see how their latest first-person shooter will run on gamers' consoles and PCs.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is nearly here, and if you just played the recent beta, you're probably aching to engage in more intergalactic warfare when the game hits PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 17.

Some upgrades will only unlock once players reach a certain rank. Crates are obtained by completing challenges "and other gameplay milestones" or by purchasing them-either with credits earned in-game or real-world money. DICE claims there is more to becoming powerful than simply buying a crate and getting a good Star Card.

If you get a duplicate Star Card in a crate, you will get crafting parts which you can then use to help upgrade the Star Card of your choice.

As a balance goal, we're working towards having the most powerful items in the game only earnable via in-game achievements.

Each loot crate has been detailed to contain more than just cosmetic items - the crates will contain Star Cars, Weapons and "other" valuable resources.

To sum up the above, DICE is shipping a $59.99 game that will be tuned over time - even though it's a sequel to the 2015 outing - but they managed to add in a feature in the game that's a month out from release (although it's still now in "beta"), and they claim that it's not complete?

Star Cards impact gameplay and are players' major concern.

The developer also mentions that voices asking for ways to play the game with the same set of star cards with flattened values have been "heard" even if no implementation was promised. We're reminded that the beta was just "a small piece of what [they're] making" and that EA is "continuing to listen to [players] coming out of the beta".

EA says that the complete system with Loot Crates and progression was not in the beta, and that it will be tuned over time.
