A special investigation team (SIT) probing the killing of noted journalist Gauri Lankesh outside her house in Bengaluru has extracted an enlarged picture of a motorcycle-borne youth, who is suspected to have conducted a recce of the area before the incident. The picture is a close shot of a CCTV footage which has been enhanced up to 10X by a USA lab.

On Saturday, the SIT had released the sketches of the two suspects and sought public's help in tracing them. As per the report, four of these suspects have Interpol red-corner notices against their names for their alleged involvement in Madgaon bomb blast that took place in 2009.

SIT chief BK Singh had said that before zeroing in on the two suspects, they investigated 200-250 people.

Summary: The Special Investigation Team also released a video of the suspects, extracted from CCTVs cameras. SI T officials issued the following c larification: "Some news channels are showing that SIT got the sketches made based on some information given by Indira Lankesh, mother of Gauri Lankesh". This is not correct. No such info was given by Indira Lankesh.

"We have prepared these sketches with the help of separate eyewitness accounts and our technical inputs".

Senior journalist Gauri Lankesh, the editor of the weekly magazine "Lankesh Patrike", was killed on September 5 outside her residence in Bengaluru.
