"Both are fine and should be available for the final selection for the match on Friday", said coach Baxter.

But with Khune making a miraculous recovery and pitching up at camp on Wednesday, suddenly the gloom has been lifted.

Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has named the starting line-up for tonight's crucial FIFA World Cup match against Senegal at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Itumeleng Khune will play at goalkeeper with a face mask as protection for the facial injury he sustained in Kaizer Chiefs' 1-0 Telkom Knockout win against Chippa United on Sunday.

Baxter has had to make two enforced changes from last month's 3-1 Russian Federation 2018 Group D win against Burkina Faso‚ with Manyama replacing Andile Jali at deep striker or No.10‚ and Dean Furman returning to the central midfield for Bongani Zungu.

The 1996 CAF Africa Cup of Nations champions, Bafana Bafana, need a win in both their remaining qualifier matches to boost their chances of booking a spot to compete in Russian Federation next year.

Dean Furman replaces Bongani Zungu, while Lebogang Manyama takes the place of Andile Jali. Percy Tau will lead the line up top.

The back four of Clayton Daniels, Morgan Gould, Sifiso Hlanti and Thamsanqa Mkhize is unchanged from Bafana's last qualifier against Burkina Faso last month. Replacements: Wayne Sandilands, Ronwen Williams, Motjeka Madisha, Tebogo Langerman, Eric Mathoho, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Phakamani Mahlambi, Tiyani Mabunda, Keagan Dolly and Bradley Grobler.
