President Donald Trump on Saturday asked why North Korean leader Kim Jong Un would call him "old" when he would never call him "short and fat".

President Donald Trump in a weird tweet Saturday night said he would never call Kim Jong Un "short and fat", and accused the North Korean dictator of calling him "old".

North Korean state media said this week that "no-one can predict when the lunatic old man of the White House, lost to sense, will start a nuclear war", referring to Trump's aggressive rhetoric toward Kim Jong Un.

The Prez responded to Kim Jong Un calling him old and threatening nuclear war by dishing out an insult Saturday night (Sunday morning for Trump, who's now in Vietnam), posting on Twitter. Trump tweeted from Hanoi, the latest leg on his marathon tour of Asia.

Trump and Kim have engaged in name-calling in recent months as tensions between the two countries increase and North Korea continues expanding its nuclear program.

Trump has frequently called Kim "rocket man".

Trump is overseas on a 12-day Asia-Pacific trip during which he has been meeting with regional leaders with a heavy emphasis on curbing North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.

But North Korea's Foreign Ministry slipped out its first statement on the president's tour and branded him an "old lunatic".
