After Amarinder Singh, Haryana CM hits out at Kejriwal over stubble burning

According to the Newspaper, There is no response from your office on meeting", countered Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar in his reply to Mr Kejriwal, also asking, "There are 40,000 farmers in Delhi.

More than 50 residents of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Monday arrived at Chakkan-da-Bagh crossing point in Poonch-Rawlakote "Peace Bus" on the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"There is no response from your office on meeting", said Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, as he recalled Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal's letter for a meeting over the smog-engulfed National Capital Region (NCR). Official sources told UNI that militants attacked a police party at Kajwar, Handwara in Kupwara.

In a letter to Kejriwal, released to media on Monday, Khattar said that a constructive mindset was required to deal with the issue of stubble burning by farmers and everyone had a role to play in this regard.

The development comes after Khattar wrote back to Kejriwal and said he was "likely" to be in Delhi on November 13 and 14.

The Supreme Court is set to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a lawyer seeking the apex court's intervention in curbing stubble burning and dust arising from construction, which is contributing to New Delhi's rising levels of air pollution.

"You may feel free to call me to fine tune a mutually convenient date, time and venue for the meeting", Khattar had said in the letter.

He added that no single person, organisation or government could improve the quality of air.

Meanwhile, Khattar went ahead and mentioned about the satellite images which proved reduction in stubble burning in Haryana since 2014. "Such collective problems require everyone to do their bit".

Taking a jibe at Amarinder, Khattar said his government spent over Rs 39 crore out of the sanctioned Rs 45 crore to tackle crop residue burning, whereas Punjab has not used any fund of its allotted Rs 98 crore to check the same.

The Haryana CM has asked me to see him in Chandigarh on Wednesday, the AAP supremo said.

"I will be in Delhi on Monday and Tuesday".

The Delhi government is blaming stubble burning by farmers in Punjab and Haryana for the smog and air pollution in the national capital and surrounding areas which have led to environment and health concerns for people.
