Call of Duty: WW2 Granting Players Double XP Since Launch

Call of Duty: WW2 has launched earlier this month, and a amusing accident came with it. Developer Sledgehammer planned to launch a 2XP event over the past weekend, but it was quickly noticed by players that their XP wasn't doubled.

"Cheaters and hackers create a plethora of issues in-game and ruin the overall experience for everyone", reads the post.

A patch deployed earlier in the week to "address disconnects, stats loss and lobby freezes" appears to have worked wonders for those particular issues, as well as a specific issue that was accidentally granting 2XP since launch - resulting in some players inadvertently being granted 3XP during this past weekend's Double XP event. Because they didn't realize 2XP was already active and had been for everybody since launch.

YouTube/PlayStationRed and company prepare to storm the beaches of Normandy in the upcoming "Call of Duty: WWII". Come Monday, when we turn off the XP bonus, it will effectively revert to what we should have had at launch (aka 1XP).

Apparently, the studios are taking their time with the script and the story in order to get them just right.
