Catches pair of touchdowns versus Dolphins

Funchess caught five of six targets for 92 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 45-21 win over the Dolphins. The gesture was in honor of Dillon Baldridge, the 22-year-old Youngsville soldier who was one of three soldiers killed during an attack in Afghanistan in June.

Funchess saluted the crowd after he scored.

Each Panther played for a fallen serviceman during the game, meeting their family members over the weekend, and hearing their story.

During the visit, Funchess told Baldridge's mother that he would score a touchdown for her in the game against Miami.

"He was a top-notch shooter. He was a sniper", Funchess said, via the team's website.

"It was an honor just to get in the end zone for her".

On a joyful night at Bank of America Stadium, Funchess made sure that joy got spread to Baldridge's family, especially his mother.
